Monaco secured a much-needed win against Reims in Ligue 1, securing their second consecutive victory after a 1-0 defeat to Bordeaux last week. The match was played at the Stade Louis II stadium, with Monaco winning 2-1 in front of a crowd of 45,000 spectators.

The first half started brightly for Monaco as they took control of the game, but Reims managed to find some moments of hope through a goal from midfielder Mathieu Valbuena in the 27th minute. However, Monaco soon regained control and continued to dominate the game, with their best chance coming in the 66th minute when French striker Benjamin Mendy shot wide of the goal.

The second half saw Monaco take full control of the game, with Ben Yedder scoring twice in quick succession to secure the win. First, he scored in the 58th minute from the penalty spot following a foul on him by Reims' goalkeeper. Then, he added another in the 73rd minute after a well-taken free-kick from teammate Florian Thauvin.

Reims, however, were not to be denied, as midfielder Frédéric scored his second goal of the season in the 84th minute to reduce the deficit to one goal. But it was too little too late, as Monaco held on for a hard-fought victory that will give them a big boost heading into their next game against Nice on Saturday.
