Red Bull Salzburg secured their fifth Austrian Bundesliga title with a thrilling victory over Rapid Vienna on Sunday.
The match at the Wiener Stadion saw both teams fight hard for every ball, but it was the Austrian giants who emerged victorious thanks to some impressive individual performances and a strong team effort.
In the first half, Rapid were dominant, creating several chances to take the lead, but they failed to convert them into goals. Meanwhile, Salzburg struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages of the game.
However, things changed dramatically in the second half as Salzburg took control of the match. They created numerous opportunities, including a penalty corner which was converted by striker Dominik Doidge.
Despite being down a man, Salzburg held on to their lead until the final whistle, securing their fifth Austrian Bundesliga title in six years.
The win puts Salzburg firmly back at the top of the table, leaving them just one point ahead of their nearest rivals RB Leipzig.
Overall, it was another fantastic display from Red Bull Salzburg, who continue to be a force to be reckoned with in European football. The club has made significant progress since the departure of former manager Hansi Flick, and it looks like they have the makings of another successful season ahead of them.
