The Scottish Premier League's Rangers Football Club has made history by signing Belgian winger Steven Veltman for the first summer transfer window of their new season.

Veltman, who joined Rangers from Ligue 1 side Nice, is expected to make an immediate impact on the club and will be a key player for them this season.

The signing comes after a successful pre-season campaign which saw the team win three out of four matches against various opponents including Celtic, Hearts and Hibernian.

"We're delighted to have secured the services of Steven Veltman," said Rangers manager Steven Gerrard. "He's a talented player with great potential and we believe he can help us achieve our goals this season."

Veltman, who was born in Antwerp, has been capped by the Belgium national team at under-21 level and has previously played for clubs such as Standard Liege and Genk.

He is expected to play a key role in Rangers' attack, and his presence could help the club challenge for honours this season.

The signing also marks the beginning of a busy summer transfer window for Rangers, who have already signed several other players ahead of the start of the new season.
